VB and UNIX

Hi everyone!

Is it possible to use VB.NET to run a command or a script on a UNIX server and get back the results? For example, I'd like to have my VB program connect to my UNIX server, run an LS command and retrieve the output (and be able to manipulate the data) from that command.

Thanks!

take a look at Mono. AFAIK, As of now the microsoft framework only runs on windows.

I don't want to run my VB.NET app on UNIX (it'll run on Windows). I want to be my app (running on Windows) to be able to connect to a UNIX server, execute some command(s) on that server and return the results to my app.

Sorry, I misread your inital question. Here is a link to a C# library for scripting telent sessions. You can probably compile it as is, and just use it, or translate to VB.NET.

Thank you, I'll look into that.
