Link Java with Visual Basic
I have an application where I need to superimpose numerous pictures with a CAD drawing. There exists a Java source code that will upload the picture to screen. Is there a way to convert the Java subroutines into drivers for VB? Is this an efficient method? Is VB the way to go or should I bite the bullet and use another language? Thank you.

Upload the picture to the screen?

You can't call java methods from any other language. If the method returns a stream of bytes (that is the picture) then you might be able to expose it through a web service, but it will be quite the tangled solution. I think biting the bullet and writing your solution in Java as well would be the best solution (and recommend everyone to stop writing new solutions in Java so it can go extinct ASAP;)).

There's commercial solutions, but nothing free that I've seen. If you've got the Java source it shouldn't be too hard to write VB .NET based off it so long as it's not using third-party libraries you *don't* have the source for. Maybe you should link to the Java source if you're able and someone could tell you if it looks impossible.
