So I'm betting there's got to be some people on here who've taken accounting courses, or taught themselves general accounting knowledge to some degree. It is .Net and I know there is a lot of accounting software written in .Net.

So my question.

Anyone have any good suggestions for accounting textbooks?

I say textbooks because I prefer books, I've taught myself most all my knowledge via textbooks.

Also I'm not looking for some broad "accounting for dummies" kind of text. I'm looking for a real textbook about the math and principles of accounting. I have a VERY strong math background so I highly doubt any of the actual arithmetic is gong to fly over my head... so please any very high quality books is what I'm looking for.

Go down to your local college book store and see if you can buy a used priniples of accounting I or II book. If not, you will at least get the name of the current books and then you should be able to get them a your local borders/barns and noble if not online...

^^ Try to look for accounting books authored by Wiley. It is widely used as a reference book in college.

Also, you may try to check the Accounting Standards.

Principles on Accounting websites provides a variety of free textbooks that are comprehensive. This relates to both financial and managerial accounting. Though, yes! I also would recommend Advanced Accounting for other options.
