Dear friends,

I have a 2 part problem.
1. I am attempting to learn how to write applications or rather plug-ins for window Media player 11. And I am under the belief that I need to obtain an SDK specifically for window Media player 11. But I have not been able find it. or it is part of another SDK I'm not shore.
One source led me to the Microsoft window sdk as the one to obtain, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Windows_SDK.
Another source led me to Windows Media format, that look more promising except It doesn't mention anything about writing components to be a part of windows Media player itself.
Can some one tell me what is the right package to obtain for my purpose.

2. I am using:
Windows XP SP3
Windows Media player 11 (of course)
Visual Studio 6 (I am spicily using Visual Basic, Visual C is available if necessary)
.Net 2.0 (I have no intention of using .Net, but if I need to, version 2.0 is already installed)
The problem hear is that some of the package I have looked into don't mention if they are compatible with this configuration (ex is the wikipedia link above that give me all sort of other comparably specification, but seemed to leave out the most importent ones) So I need to know how to figer that out.

I am totally lost and frustrated. So if anyone knows what is the package and where to get it, it would be greatly appreciated.
