How do i remove the white background in images (picture of 2d plane, top down view) shows white square even when i set bg to transperant etc

What format are your images - .bmp? .jpg?
Have you tried .gif or .png?

Hello! and thanks. I have tried all of the above formats. I even tried photoshopping to make sure the background was 100% clear and tried with no success, i then made the background 100% white and coded it to ignore the colour white but still no success. I am quite new to VB and i'm using it for a school project.

PS: jesse is my partner in the assignment =P

A couple of things to try:
There is an attachment to this post that contains a graphic
with a transparent background.

Try downloading it, unzipping it, and running it.

See if you see a white rectangle around the round graphic
or (more likely),
see if you see the checkerboard-as-transparent form background shows through.

Use the download link on this vbHelper page.
After unzipping the download,
run the project and see if the landscape picture shows
through the smiley sprite's eyes.

If both of these projects have graphics with transparent background when run then
I think you will know what you need to do..
