Default New To .NET

I am a VB coder I mostly program server/client programs with Winsock. I know nothing about VB.NET, but I was wondering how good it is comapred to Winsock in VB. Or what are its features is it network and communication programs only or what? Because I might want to get started on it if it works better than Winsock with VB.

if you're looking for opinions, virtually everything is better in .Net. You won't find a Winsock control in it though. Look into System.Net.Sockets

And it is *very* different from VB6.

Also look into System.Threading they go hand in hand.Especially with communication programs.
