Default Can the PDW damage computers?

Something I want to check before using it.

I want to use the Package & Deployment Wizard to make an installer for a simple program that uses an Access file.

What I am wondering reguards the additional files it feels are needed that it includes. Is it likely that they could damage a computer? Overwriting something important, for example?

It depends on what you're referencing. Just the VB bootstrap files and runtimes won't damage a system, but if you have other dependencies that could overwrite later versions, then yes, that could cause a problem. If it's a concern, you might consider switching to a different install program that allows you to specify explicitly how to respond when an existing file is found (never overwrite, only overwrite if yours is newer, etc.).

Well, it's a pretty much straight forward VB/Access program.
