Default FTP Programs

Hi guys,

I am currently using WS_FTP and am getting really annoyed with it (far too many bugs).
Anyway, just wanted to know what programs you guys use, with pros and cons if possible.

Cheers

I'm using Internet Neighborhood from Knoware Inc.

It's completly integrated in the windows explorer.

Edit: corrected the link

I use the console mode FTP that comes with windows, Procomm
Plus32, and WS_FTP. Just depends on what I want to do.

CL and I use CuteFTP from Globalscape.

$40 isn't bad for well-written software.

The bug one for me, is a bug where it will complete a large upload, delete the file from the server and start again for no apparent reason. Very irritating when you are trying to upload 20-30 megs of data!

Wink Heck with those!

I don't use any FTP program for FTPing. Win98 and up (not sure, but I know Win2000 does) has FTP capability built-in. Just type in the address in the "address" bar of a folder or IE, type in a username and PW, and you're in! It's just like browsing in explorer. I love it!

I think that's what Thinker was talking about... "the console mode FTP that comes with windows"

Anyhoo, try it! You might have to "Enable folder view for FTP sites" in an IE checkbox somewhere if it's not checked already.

I use Cute FTP and Serv-U for the ftp server. Rhinosoft who makes Serv-U also has an FTP client called ftpVoyager, which is pretty good as well. Anyway, here are some Downloads
Good luck

Enjoy

OK, cheers everyone. I was already planning to switch to CuteFTP but just wanted to see what everyone thought. Its certainly improved a lot since I last used it .

Bucky:
I think that Thinker was referring to the little command line FTP program. Go to Start>>Run, type Cmd and press enter. At the command prompt, type ftp and press enter. The good old DOS days .
BTW, because IE has FTP builtin doesn't mean that you aren't using an FTP client.

Anyway, I got what I needed. Cheers.
