What do you think is the average number of views a post gets before it gets a reply?

I know it depends on what the message is... but on average what do you think? 20 or 30?

Steve

I think it depends on the question. if It is vague it might take sometime before anybody would answer.
People in this forum are very helpful. They all want to help.
I've been in this forum for about 3 months and I've learned so much in this forum.
I always read all the posts even if I don't post answers. I just read them and learn.

I want to thank everyone in this forum who takes the time to help someone else.

Thanks.
Roger

It also depends upon the difficulty. Really tough questions, even if clear, may never get answered. Also, questions that are too specific (eg. require a particular combination of DLLs or hardware) may get few replies as well.

I tend to agree...the more esoteric the topic the smaller the pool of resources you have to draw on, for example, there was a post about a VB-EXCEL where they were selecting fields from a DB and posting them to cells on an Excel spreadsheet. I looked at the post several times but never bothered to try and answer it because, well frankly it required some "extra" effort. It bothered me that no one else answered it so I took them time to copy the code, set up the environment, etc and was able to answer the question. I haven't seen a reply yet so I assume it was a satisfactory answer, or the poster has abandoned it.

The general questions that impact a larger audience tend to get responses right away.

Cheers.
