Question Open Source

Does anybody know of any Open Source VB projects that a novice could cut his teeth on?

Open Source? What exactly do you mean by that?

Hardly....I'm confused because I don't know how you would work on anything that was NOT open source? I mean how could you?! Unless your defn' is different from mine it seems redundant sooo, best to ask, no?

Cheers.

No, http://www.planet-source-code.com/vb/ looks like a good site, but, from what I gathered it was not an Open Source project.

Just in case you don't know, or that I am not being clear, Open Source is a software development model whereby the programmers are all volunteers, and the "final" product is given away for FREE. (Gasp! )

Of course, I am simplifying to a degree. Linux (dirty word?), which was developed this way, would not be considered simple.

Oh I see, something like GNU stuff then.

Exactly like GNU stuff, GPL (General Public License) and all.

So, any clues? I haven't been able to find anything too interesting on the web. Really, the only thing I found deals a lot with XML, and that's a dimension I'm just not willing to add to my arsenal right now.

Well, what i think it's going on is that for people who are really beginners ( and i can tell you that, 'cause i already faced this problem), source codes without very good comments mean nothing, you get a lot a information but you have to face really hard work to get on it. So for beginners, good codes, with good tutorials are not easy to find.
