Default windows 2000 pro


will vb6 work with Win 2000 pro? the msdn library disc says it only works with win98 & winNT.

The disc probably says it was designed for Windows 98 and
Windows NT, not that it specifically not work with it. Besides, I
used to use Windows 2000 (on XP now) with VB6 just fine.

They should have just called Windows 2000 Windows NT 5, and XP Windows NT 6.

That's what they are. People are so dependent on MS products they don't need the fancy logos and names they are putting on this stuff. (although Windows 2000 isn't a bad name, but XP?)

Windows 2000 is based on Windows NT. It is based on the
Windows NT kernal, but it is not specifically NT itself.
Windows XP, is not Windows NT 6 by any means. If anything, it's
Windows NT 5.1, although it is straying further and further from
the NT kernal.
