Question Locked Cell Error

Hi
i'm using Excel to create a register type App.
I've locked all the cells that arn't used and left open them that are, when the user tries to enter data in a locked cell they get the error mesage,
Is their any way of changing it so that i can display my own error message within the worksheet, i.e when they select a cell that can be wrote in a cell at the bottom shows a message saying "enter details", if they chose a cell thats locked it says select "wrong Cell Selected" or words to that effect.
thanks
Rob

Default

You can try to use an macro in the sheet, that starts when you open the sheet. With the macro you can us an: On Error statement to give the messagebox you want instead of the one excel uses,

You can also turn it around and use an macro to protect the fields that you want to protect...
