INF files

hi
can anyone tell me how to write to and retrieve data from an inf file, i cannot seem to search for this as inf is below 4 letters

Search about GetPrivateProfileString and WritePrivateProfileString API functions in the MSDN Library, or www.allapi.net

To search for words less than 3 characters use the wildcard symbol, ie an asterix
so, to search for inf you'd type
inf*
