WAIT A SEC!!! EXCITEBIKE!!! Was that that old game on the Mac where you could customize your bike and then race computer opponents??? And it was 2D and you could bounce waaaayyy in the air if you set your springs right? I LOVE THAT GAME!!!!!!

Man, i want to do all of these...

On a seperate note, does anyone remember that really really old mac game (I think it was called airlock or something) where you have a spaceman and you have to keep him near the center of this target thing (and the computer makes all these really ugly beeping noises)? I like that game too. Is there a modern version?

You guys want a poll (with the last options posted by Kuno,Seanami, (*edit, sorry*)RABIDCHIMP and Alex_0077) to see if one of these ideas would be a good idea? Just a thought.

Is that the game where you could make your own cources and stubb, and if you did hold the fast button to long your bike would be overheated??? That is a fun game....I loved it when I was younger....

Seanami, you can join me making a car game in DDraw, like an old PC car game or something like that. I have started ripping graphics from GTA1 to start it off....

Alex: I will do it with BitBlt and just 2D. I've only done one game like that and I'd like to get more practice before I move on to DX and stuff.

NoteMe: thank you for the offer, I'm honored, but I really don't think that I'd have the time or the know how to work on a DDraw game with someone else. Unfortunatly, I'm still in high school :P (Plus I haven't even done DDraw yet.

Everybody: These are all really good ideas. I guess I was wrong about what game ExciteBike is, but does anyone know what game I am talking about? It was a Mac game (around the time the powermac came out), it was shareware, and it was SOOO much fun. Also, that airlock game was great (that was back in the ages of B&W screens) but, sadly, I don't remember the play mechanics of it or anything, just the basic idea... If anyone has ever played it...

a poll would be sweet, but I can't promise that I'll actually go with the idea that wins... I can't figure out how to make one tho...

oh oh, another game I love. STG Strike Gunner on SNES. Anyone ever play that? That would make a pretty cool project too.

Seanami You most not believe that I'm an expert. I'm not old either. Just finished high school. I just want to expand my horizon...but if you feel that you need more practice before doing DX I think it is a good thing to do...to many jumps to fast forward trying to make games way over their head...

I've just recently read Dircect Draw. Im not familiar with it either. But ive heard it has a faster bitblt function. Thats an incentive to start. (my opinion, anyways.)

Speaking of black and white screen old school games:

How about a clone of 'Oregan Trail'? I loved that game.

What platform was it...I can't remember that game? What was it about.

Yes DDraw is fast. ANd when you understand the fundamentals, it's really easy to use to...

Do you mean you don't remember OREGAN TRAIL? it ran on some green and black dual 5 1/2 inch floppy drive computer. Really, REALLy, old.

you would buy wheels, food, bullets, oxes, axels, and stuff before starting the trip in a 'Wild West' type of wagon. You could sometimes stop to hunt and shoot rabbits, Buffalos, squirls, and stuff. Occasionally, a family member would die or get sick. you would go from forts to cities, cross rivers by plugging up your wagon, ect.
