Can't remember the name of that amazing Pong game I used to play with a friends. You could collect magic gems, shoot, multi balls, obstacles... Does anyone know it ?

Multiplayer DX Ball. Its actually a breakout style game with ALOT of features. 2 Player would be neat. 2 Player Breakout where u get like money or credits or something and you can buy different walls that the other player has to break threw to get to you. Kinda like Pongout or something. Just an idea. I think it would be fun.

P.S. i would go with the excitebike clone. That was a REALLY fun game.

Hmm . . . craziest or most useful, you say?

My most useful is probably my Image Encryption program I finished a short while back (but for some reason haven't gotten on my site yet). It's usefulness is potential, however, as I have no real use for it -- but others might.

My craziest is likely my Mouse HUD (Heads-Up Display), which shows the speed and mileage of your mouse. (My mouse has gone 16 3/4 mi. already)

my most useful was my map/script editor, and my pixel finder. Both have been very useful.
My craziest was a c++ dll which divided a number, turned it into an integer, then multiplied it by the same number (very useful in tile selection, but utterly pointless to be put into a dll)

And, my mouse has only gone 5.6975 miles , but because of that, my mouse has travelled up the statue of liberty 198 times and is now 139 feet of the 152 feet total way up again

EDIT: Oh, and for an idea, how about something which can solve algebric equations

My most useful program evaluates equations.
My craziest program generates them
and a bunch of other stuff (I have 120 functions inside of a module).

lol

You just have to know how big the monitor is in inches then you just calculate distance travelled across the screen, and convert it into other formats like miles/kilometers/inches

I didn't really take into consideration the size of the monitor. I have a 17-in, which I suppose is pretty standard nowadays. I just measure the amount of pixels travelled, and convert that with Screen.TwipsPerPixelX(or Y), and then multiply the Twips to get inches, then on from there . . .

You can find MouseHUD (in compiled form) on the Mini Utilities page of Gamer X Creations

Question End Of Semester Project Ideas?

I'm sure questions like these are posted all the time but I'm going to ask anyway

Does anyone have a good idea for a VB Project?

The requirements aren't strict, it doesn't even need to be useful. But I need an interesting idea for my end of semester project in my VB class.
It's a beggining class (college level) so it doesn't have to be too difficult, but I do want somewhat of a challenge. I dont want anything all that graphical, we havent even studied graphics in the class. Possibly something I can later convert into a Palm Pilot app. I've thought about a gas mileage calculator, but it sounds too simple, If anyones got good ideas for some extra features, I might do that, but it seems kinda boring.
Anything you got, just gimme some ideas, even if its a little crazy.

Just think up some simple utilities that may be useful. For example, im currently making an app that tweaks the registry. Im also devising a program to automatically load and monitor Folding@home Command line.

I know thats not very helpful. SOrry. THink of what ticks you off and wish there was an easier method. Then make a program for it.

You should probably get some guidance from your tutor as to what level of difficulty they will be expecting.

Lightbulb Odd But Serious

Hello all. How are you doing? Well I have been programming in visual basic 6 for about 8 months and am getting a little past beginner but not A LOT! I used to make things to do with something I used to enjoy but am past that now and don't know what to make!? I am a pretty new beginner so not very hard projects but ones that you have tried or think would be neat to make. So I am just looking for ANY suggestions on quick little programs or big ones that would come in handy on the computer daily or what not. This is an odd question but I would REALLY appreciate some true honest projects to try to do and a descrption of it Well I really appreciate the help and have a good day all
