Surely a Google search would have turned it up as the first result?

I have another one u can use for free (www.jasc.com) but only for 30 days then u cant use it. It is Paint Shop Pro, one of my favorite editors. If u buy it its VERY costly. But download. Play with it and then if u love using it buy it. (I think its $199)

Default icon editing

I want to be able to make an icon for a toolbar that is the same as an icon found in progman.exe. Is there any way I can "capture" one of the icons in progman.exe for use in a toolbar? (I realize once you've got the icon in a toolbar that it can be edited.)

I guess a related question is: If I create a drawing in Paintshop, how do I save it as an icon?

TIA

You can get Icon editors off the net. I use Icon Cool Editor available at www.iconcool.com. You can download a free trial version that works very well or purchase for about $20.

Check out VB Icon Maker about half-way down the first page of this thread - not only is it a pretty good Icon creator/editor, the VB source is included! It seemed to have some issues re saving in 16 bit color mode (Transparent, background color changed to black) so I just set the default bit-depth to 8 bits on the form.

Edit: Merged threads

Wink Create icon using PhotoShop

Look http://www.stardownloader.com/versionhistory.php --> version history of StarDownloader. Then search for version 1.32, at "New Features" section.

• A New XP Style icon

That's icon by me! contact Stardownloader's developer for info. Use it (reliable enough)! and look at the icon, it uses Windows XP Alpha channel capability.

Do you want to know how to create it? just use PhotoShop. But too long to be told here. Look at MSDN !

Sorry for my baddddd english.

Default Custom Icons

Hi all,

I’m trying to create a custom icon to put in the title bar of my application. When I click on the open image ellipsis, it becomes apparent that VB wants the file to end in .ico or .cur.

The problem is, when I go to my Paint program, those two endings don’t seem to be an option when I try to save my created image.

Any advice?

Regards,

Mick Dugan

Edit: Merged into main icon thread
