Angry Using Word as an ActiaveX Component

I am using "Access 97 Programming For Dummies" as a reference. I am trying to export into a Word Template data from a Quote file created in Access.

In my template I have created a bookmark called "Quote" and I am trying to export the Quote number [COUNTER] to print at that bookmark.

Sub WriteQuoteNumber(COUNTER)

Doc.Editgoto "Quote"
Doc.Insert Str(COUNTER)

End Sub

An earlier subroutine creates the document. When this routine runs the variable (COUNTER) prints at the very first position in the document rather than at the bookmark. I have tried other bookmark names with the same results.

If anyone has any ideas on what I am doing wrong - I sure would appreciate some help.

Thanks

Just to be clear: is this a .Net question or a VBA question? It looks like VBA to me, right?

And is the code you are showing residing within Word, it seems? (Or within Access?)

Let us know and we'll try to get you straightened out...

Thanks for your reply. I am programming in VBA in Access. The scrap of code I included comes from a separate module "WriteToWord". If it would be helpful I can include more of it.

Thanks,

Mike
