Default Inserting text box within a sentence

I am trying to do the most simple thing. Trying to insert a text box within a sentence in Microsoft word. (see the attached word doc).

For some reason it keeps aligning the text box above the bottom of the text line. I have checked all my paragraph, margin and text settings... and I can't figure it out.

I am trying to get the bottom of the text box to align with the bottom of the word line.

Anyone have any thoughts... or is this too much of a thing for word.

Word has larger grid spacing than Excel on its drawing pane. I might suggest using a square shape with a transparent backfill overlying the normal text.

Thank you for the response. It is an option.

Let me explain what I'm trying to do: I have a document where I would input text at certain sections (names, dates..etc)

I was using the textbox as a method of inputting. Have any recommendations for this?

I'm not an expert in Word but if you click on the textbox, then click on Drawing Tools/Format, then Position/More layout options, there are checkboxes for absolute or relative positions. Looks like you would want an absolute position of the textbox of -0.03" below the paragraph, and allow it to move with the paragraph. How you do this with Word VBA I don't know. Do a search on absolute positioning a textbox.

Rather than using a textbox, this is probably more easily achieved with a Plain Text Content Control which can be found under the Developer tab.
